Coffee espresso machines first arrived around 1901 when an Italian businessman named Luigi Bezzera patented a design for a coffee machine. In 1905, Desidero Pavoni bought the patent from Bezzera and after looking closely at the process, discovered that coffee was best brewed at a pressure of 8-9 bar, and at a temperature of 90 °C. This was the birth of the espresso coffee machine.
